Press Release, December 1, 2007, Incline Village: Incline After-School Organization is proud to announce the availability, in print and web form, of VillageGuide.org. The Village Guide is the place to find and contact sources in Incline Village and North Lake Tahoe for recreation, dining, shopping, and much more. The Village Guide is a project of the Incline After-School Organization (IAO) with 100% of all advertising proceeds going to support IAO and its activities... positively impacting the lives of dozens of children each day.
The Village Guide is populated with over 90 local businesses and agencies that provide quality products and services to the community. Incline residents and visitors simply browse the print or web-based guide to find the desired business, and then dial a toll-free (1-877-TAHOE-10) or local number (831-8636) to connect directly to the business. More than 40,000 copies of the four-color, three-fold Village Guide are being distributed throughout the community, plus of course immediate availability on-line at VillageGuide.org. Frequent Callers to the Village Guide can win free meals, lift tickets, shows and more!
Local businesses and agencies participate in the Village Guide by direct advertising and/or by providing in-kind products and services. Premium sponsors of the Village Guide include the Hyatt Regency, North Lake Tahoe Bonanza, Bowl Incline, Crosby's, Diamond Peak, Goldfish Properties, the Hacienda, Incline Village Community Hospital, Incline Village Golf Courses, Lake Tahoe Lockshop, St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, and Video Maniacs.
All advertising proceeds from the Village Guide go directly to IAO and will fund a majority of the more than 25 different programs offered throughout the year to local children. This strong community support directly serves the mission of IAO to provide after-school supervised instruction in alternative athletic and educational activities for students kindergarten through 12th grade. Emphasis is to facilitate “inclusive” programs that provide year-around opportunities for children from families of all income levels and ethnic backgrounds. More than 300 students are active members of IAO, with 30-to-50 students attending free programs each day. IAO after-school programs include not only athletics such as kayaking, mountain biking, soccer and skiing, but also wide-ranging activities such as web authoring, knitting, and hip-hop dance.
Look for the Village Guide prominently displayed throughout Incline and the North Shore and also visit us frequently at VillageGuide.org.
